The need for government and the media to work harmoniously for good governance has been stressed.
Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Public Relations, Ambassador Ahmed Umar Bolori stated this in Lokoja when he met the Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, North Central Zone, Mallam Haruna Idris who was on a working visit to the state.
The Special Adviser explained that a cordial working relationship between government and the media would ensure adequate information dissemination and guarantee efficient feedback from the people.
“Citizens have a right to know and we cannot achieve this without having a good relationship with the journalism profession. That’s why we keep insisting that we need to work closely”, He stressed.
Ambassador Bolori promised the Kogi state government’s support to Radio Nigeria, Prime FM Lokoja for effective reportage.
On his part, Zonal Director, North Central Zone of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Mallam Haruna Idris who pointed out that management was making efforts to relocate Prime FM stressed that Radio Nigeria had sustained its mandate of uniting the nation through improved content programming and professional reportage.
Earlier in an interactive with staff, the Zonal Director encouraged them to be committed and be proactive in discharging thier duties.
A staff of the station, Jibo Okpanachi stressed the need for training and retraining of staff for improved productivity.
In his address, General Manager, Radio Nigeria, Prime FM, Lokoja, Alhaji Adeiza Momoh Jimoh who appreciated the support of the Zonal Director and his management team in efforts to reposition Prime FM commended staff for their ingenuity.
The Zonal Director led the management team to Mount Patti the proposed site for relocation of Prime FM, Lokoja.
