YULETIDE : Nassarawa Deploys Over 4,000 Police Personnel

Over four thousand police personnel have been deployed to different locations in Nasarawa State to ensure law and order during and after the Christmas and New year celebrations.

Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Ramhan Nansel stated this in Lafia at the end of a briefing for senior Police Officers and Heads of Departments in the Command by the Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Bola Longe.

He said the Police Commissioner cancelled all casual leaves and directed officers and men of the Command to be on red alert at their various duty posts to nip in the bud any attempt to forment trouble during the celebration.

He stated that the police would work closely with other security agencies in the State to enforce strictly the ban on the use of knockouts and unauthorized fireworks during the festive periods.

The Police Spokesperson pointed out that the Command had rejigged its strategy in fighting crimes as it police would deal decisively with criminal elements who may hijack the celebration to cause mayhem.

He further called on the residents of the State to take advantage of the various Communication channels for distress calls to reach the police for prompt action.
