YOWICAN Bemoans Spate Of Insecurity In Nig

The Christain Association of Nigeria, CAN wants the Federal Government to urgently come up with new strategies to address the spate of insecurity threatening the unity of the country.

National Chairman of the Youth wing of CAN, YOWICAN, Mr Belusochukwu Enwere made the call while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the national executive council emergency meeting in Abuja..

Mr Enwere who expressed concern over the increasing cases of kidnappings, destruction of farmlands and banditry said the situation portends danger to the Economy and Agricultural programs of the present administration.

While acknowledging the efforts of security agencies in tackling the menace, the YOWICAN National Chairman appealed to the Kaduna State Government to ensure the immediate release of the Students of Bethel Baptist College and others in the den of kidnappers.

He also urged the Federal and Kaduna State Governments to look into possible solutions to the incessant attacks and killings in Southern Kaduna.

On the 2023 General Election, Mr Enewere said the association had Commenced campaign across the country on the need for eligible Youths to participate in the ongoing INEC Continuous Voter Registration to enable them contribute to Governance.

He maintained that the organisation would work with other Youth religious groups to ensure that only credible leaders emerge at all levels of governance in future elections.

The YOWICAN Leader however stressed the need for Youths to be peace ambassadors and avoid being used by some unpatriotic Politicians to distabilise the country.
