Youth groups in Nasarawa State under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Youths in Nigeria have staged a peaceful protest in support of the Dissolution of the Police Special Anti Robbery Squard, SARS.
The youths who converged on the Emir of Lafia’s Palace proceeded to the Government House along Shendam road in Lafia the Nasarawa State Capital.
Coordinator of the Coalition of Northern Youths in the State, Jamil Abubakar said they were in the Government House to present a letter for onward submission to President Muhammadu Buhari.
He stated that they were in support of steps taken so far to reform the Nigeria Police Force especially the establishment of Special Weapon and Tactics Unit, SWAT to replace the disbanded SARS.
Jamil Abubakar commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu for listening to the voices of youths on the need to reform the police Force.
The youths carried placards with inscriptions such as One Nigeria, One Nigeria Police; We are One Nation; We Support SWAT; We Support Dissolution of SARS among others.
