A group known as the Yoruba Appraisal Forum, YAF, has called on traditional and Community leaders to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to security agencies to secure their areas.
This is contained in a statement in Abuja by the coordinator of the forum, Mr Adeshina Animasaun.
The statement which calls on parents to monitor their children and educate them on the dangers of engaging in any form of crime, urges youths to be on the vanguard of peace and unity .
The statement also advises governments in the six states of the south-western region to rise to the challenge of maitaining peace by ensuring the deployment of adequate security personnel to prevent any individual or group from disrupting the peace currently being enjoyed in the region and the entire country.
It also commends security agencies for their efforts so far and charged them to be more proactive by tightening all security Loose ends across the country to avert anarchy.
The statement restates the forum’s commitment to mobilising its members for enlightenment campaigns across the country to Fastrack infrastructural development .
