Leaders of various unions that make up the organized labour in Nasarawa State have locked the main entrance to the state Secretariat in compliance with the directive to embark on strike.
Some of the workers who pleaded anonymity told Radio Nigeria that the action of the union leaders was the best to salvage the civil service from total collapse due to negligence by the state government.
The workers explained that for over 14 years there had been no promotion, annual increment of salaries and non implementation of the minimum wage in full were some of their demands.
School children were also seen returning home as teachers were not attending to them.
