UP Lauds Achievements Of Gov Zulum In Checking Insurgency

The National Chairman of a Political Party, United Patriots, UP, says the exemplary leadership demonstrated by the Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum in the fight against insurgency should be emulated by other State Governors.

A statement signed by the National Chairman, Mr. Chukwudi Ezeobika in Abuja describes as exceptional, the achievements recorded by the Governor amidst security challenges.

“Having inherited deplorable security conditions in Borno State occasioned by protracted insurgency resulting in huge displacement of indigenes of the State, the current Government under Prof. Zulum has indeed shown that good leadership is still possible in Nigeria”

The statement explains that Irrespective of political, ethnic and religious affiliations, Governor Zulum stands out as one who truly has the interests of the citizens of the State at heart.

The United Patriots wishes to identify with this selfless, unequalled and unparalleled Leader in his dedication to duty and calls on all Governors to emulate the rare virtues exhibited by Zulum.

“Having brought to the barest minimum, the protracted conflict between farmers and herders in Borno State, through the inauguration of a special team of security agencies and outfits, the Government of Borno State has shown that farmers/herders crisis, which is ravaging most parts of the Country, can be effectively managed.

It adds that “UP” remains resolute in supporting the war against insurgency in the North Eastern part of the Country and calls on the Federal Government to pay closer attention to the needs of the affected States and deploy resources necessary in restoring the affected States to their original statuses.

It appeals to the Federal Government to give the needed support to enable Governor Zulum achieve the much needed socio-economic stability as well as restore peace and security to the State.
