The United Patriots ,UP, has called on the Federal Government to take immediate and necessary steps to resolve the crisis currently ravaging the Country to avert total breakdown of law and order
This is contained in a statement signed by the National Chairman of UP, Chukwudi Ezeobika.
It explains that the unlawful killings and incessant destruction of property across the Federation should be of serious concern to Government as failure to address the issues raised by the youths could lead to a complete state of anarchy.
It states that the United Patriots is of the strong view that immediate measures should be put in place and necessary steps taken by President Muhammadu Buhari, to prevent Nigeria from sliding into a civil war.
“The protracted extra judicial killings of citizens, looting and destruction of property across the Country with no enforcement agencies on sight to forestall such lawlessness is of great concern to us”
The statement calls on youths to remain peaceful in their protests and be mindful of the rights of other Nigerian citizens while exercising their rights under the law.
It therefore appeals to Government to reconnect with the youths to meet their demands adding that leadership positions is a trust for the people.
