The National Tuberculosis Control Programme in Collaboration with a Non- Governmental Organisation Breakthrough Action Nigeria and other partners have developed a National guideline for effective advocacy for Tuberculosis funding, control and treatment.
The Deputy Project Director Tuberculosis and Malaria Programme Breakthrough Action Nigeria, Doctor Bolatito Aiyenigba made this known at the Inauguration of the Unified National Branded Tuberculosis Campaign in Abuja.
Doctor Aiyenigba who noted that the unified policy document would help states and partners solicit support said the organisation mobilized all the Tuberculosis experts to produce the policy for effective control of the disease in the country.
Doctor Aiyenigba who also emphasized the need for Nigerians to understand that not all coughs are associated to Covid-19 encouraged those with severe cough to go for proper medical check.
The Deputy project Director cautioned against stigmatisation of people with Tuberculosis.
