The Nigerian Armed Forces says it has continued to record significant successes with the elimination of scores of bandits, terrorists and the arrest of their collaborators during various Operations across the country.
The Coordinator Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters Major General John Enenche who stated this during a media briefing in Abuja said sixteen suspected cultists were also arrested in Plateau State.
General Enenche said the aggressive operation of troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, the land and air component of operation Thunder Strike led to the elimination of scores of bandits, arrest of thirteen bandits collaborators and repel of attacks in the North West theatre of Operation.
The Coordinator explained that in the North East, troops of operation Lafiya Dole, through the subsidiary operation Fire Ball, Wutar Tabki and the Air component of operation Lafiya Dole killed scores of terrorists, repelled attacks on the convoy of Internally Displaced Persons, rescued some kidnapped victims and arrested some kidnappers.
In the North Central zone, General Enenche stated that troops of operation Whirl Stroke and Safe Haven apprehended sixteen suspected cultists in Plateau state, arrested some kidnappers, a suspected illicit drug peddler with three sacks of substance suspected to be Cannabis Sativa and other items.
The Coordinator also said troops of operation Delta Safe in the South South zone have sustained the fight against crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunkering as the troops through the subsidiary operations destroyed illegal refining sites, arrested six armed robbers in Uromi Edo state, arrested a suspected gun runner and recovered bags of rice as well as arms and ammunition.
