29 June 2021 By Safiya Wada

Annette Echikunwoke has entered the history book as the first Nigerian woman to qualify for the Olympics in the Hammer Throw event.

Annette broke her own Nigerian and African Record by throwing 75.49m in the women’s Hammer Throw at the USATF Throws Festival in Arizona, United States of America recently.

In one of her interviews, she said, “I like to encourage the people I compete with. I don’t want to just beat someone on their worst day. I want to beat them on their best day.”

All eyes will be on Nigeria’s history maker, as she will be ready to make her mark on the world hammer story.

The Nigeria Olympic Committee wishes her success at the games.
