Tenure Of INEC Chairman Ends Today

The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu has handed over to a National Commissioner, Retired Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Muazu as acting Chairman of the Commission after the completion of his first term is office which ended today.
While handing over to the acting chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu said he was handing over to a Commissioner who would oversee the affairs of the Commission as stipulated by the constitution.
He explained that though he had been re appointed it was yet to be confirmed by the National Assembly.
Professor Mahmood Yakubu commended staff of the Commission and stakeholders for the support he enjoyed during his first tenure and solicited more for success of the acting Chairman.
In his response, the acting chairman of INEC, Retited Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Muazu promised to carry everyone along in the management of the Commission.
