The Military High Command has deployed additional troops to Southern Kaduna as a measure to address the security challenges in the area.
The Coordinator Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters Major General John Enenche stated this in Abuja during the weekly Media briefing on the operations of the Armed Forces across the country.
General Enenche explained that the military redoubled efforts towards addressing various security challenges within the week under review.
The Coordinator who said the Armed Forces reinforced operations in Southern Kaduna with Special Operation forces which according to him was yeilding positive results urged the public especially residents of the area to assist troops with factual information to enhance its operations.
On the warnings of the United States of Africa Command on the activities and strategies by Extremists groups to establish themselves across Africa, the Coordinator stated that the Armed Forces and other security agencies had put adequate measures in place to summount the issue.
General Enenche also described the allegations that troops were engaging in other activities rather than operations as baseless.
He added that troops of operation Delta Safe through Nigerian Navy Ship Delta and Pathfinder in the South South as well as troops of Operation AWATSE in the South West discovered and deactivated illegal refining sites and recovered refined petroleum products.
The Coordinator also pointed out that the aggressive Operations of troops of Operation Hadarin Daji and Operation Safe Haven in the North West and North Central zones led to the reduction of activities of bandits in the zones.
