Sen Okorocha Describes Protests As Challenge To Leaders

The immediate past Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has described the EndSARS protest as a wake up call and challenge to Nigerian leaders.

He made this known to newsmen in Abuja.

Chief Okorocha who is representing Imo west senatorial district in the ninth Assembly explained that, ostentatious life style of Nigerian elites provoked the youths who are either unemployed or underemployed.

The Senator however advocated that the cost of governance be reduced by fifty percent to meet the yearnings of the masses.

He also stressed the need for active participation of youths in governance to understand the intricacies of leadership as future leaders.

He suggested the establishment of a national committee for peace and reconciliation and creation of a data base for all unemployed graduates, skilled individuals, orphans and those displaced by crisis and natural disaster.

Senator Okorocha also emphasized on the need to bridge the communication gap between government and the people for better understanding.
