The Federal Capital Territory Administration has announced that boarding schools should resume on Sunday 11th while regular schools resumes Monday 12th this month.
FCT Minister , Malam Muhammad Musa Bello made this known at a media briefing in Abuja.
Malam Bello explained that the decision to reopen FCT schools was jointly arrived at by critical education stakeholders in accordance with the declaration of the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.
The Minister who tasked school administrators to ensure that students and pupils adhered strictly to the COVID 19 safety guidelines upon resumption, assured parents and guardians that FCT schools were safe to reopen.
Malam Bello who however warned parents not to underate COVID 19, as the pandemic was still very much around hinted that details on the adjustment of the school calendar would be provided by the Education Secretariat.
While it is certain that there is no third term, the FCT Administration warned private schools against demanding for third term school fees.
The schools are expected to use two weeks to revise with students and
tidy up the second term for the beginning of a new session immediately.
