Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukweze’s involvement at the second leg semi-final of the Europa league between Arsenal and Villarreal Thursday was cut short after he sustained injury.
Villarreal star Samuel Chukwueze was forced out of his side’s Europa League encounter at Arsenal on Thursday in what could be a major blow for the Yellow Submarine.
The injury which appeared to be hamstring occured in the 28th minute after the former Diamond Academy of Abia State went on ground holding his thigh.
He immediately indicated to the bench to be substituted before he was stretched out.
Prior to the injury, the winger has been a torment to Arsenal’s back four.
It is not clear how long he would be on the treatment table.
However, his club who went into the match with 2-1 first leg lead were able to preserve their advantage as they frustrated Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium a booked final ticket.
The will come up against Manchester United who though lost 3-2 against Roma in Rome in the other semi-final, but the Red Devil’s qualified for the final on 8-5 aggregate score.
The 2021 Europa League final will be played on May 24.
