The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, AGF, Abubakar Malami has felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid el-fitr.
This is contained in a statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations to the AGF, Dr. Umar Gwandu in Abuja.
According to the statement, Ramadan comes with numerous lessons
including sincerity, honesty, commitment, sacrifice, selflessness, introspection and empathy, amongst others.
It however, assures that the Federal Government is committed to ending insecurity in the country,.
According to the statement with the prosecution of 400 suspected Boko Haram financiers, the government has taken more measures to counter the twin trouble of insurgency and insecurity in the country.
The statement notes that very soon, the Federal Government will, through the Federal Ministry of Justice’s Complex Case Group, resuscitate the existing special terrorism prosecution courts in the country to bring to book all those found guilty to serve as a deterrent to others.
It therefore, urges Muslims as they celebrate Eid-fitr to continue to be law-abiding, have sober reflection and Imbibe the lessons learnt during the Ramadan.
The statement salutes the commitment of clerics in enlightening their followers on various issues during the Ramadan urging them to maintain the tempo even beyond the period of Ramadan.
