Resident Doctors of the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH have joined in the Nationwide strike declared by the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD.

Doctor Nalda said the action was to demand for non payment of salaries, hazard allowances among others

The NARD president explained that most of its demands had been lingering for over ten years without positive response from the Federal Government which necessitated the action.

He added that there was strict compliance by members and expressed optimism that it would yield positive results.

Reacting, to the incident, Chief Medical Director, Jos University Teaching Hospital, Professor Edmund Banwat said although consultants and house officers were on ground to render skeletal services, the strike would have a negative impact on the hospital.

He urged the Resident doctors and the federal government to reach an agreement for the benefit of the health system.
