The House of Representatives has urged the Nigerian Armed Forces to adopt innovative measures that will curb the spate of insecurity in the country.
The Chairman House Commitée on Defence Babajimi Benson from Lagos State made the call at the screening session of the Chief of Army Staff Presidential Nominee in Abuja.
The lawmaker who is also the Chairman of the Screening Committee said Nigeria deserved a reinvigorated armed forces that was robust, well trained and adequately equipped to protect the country.
Responding the Presidential Nominee for the Chief of Army staff, Major General Farouk Yahaya, called for collaboration from all stakeholders to enable security agencies overcome the current security challenges
General Yahaya, pledged a harmonious working relationship with other security agencies and promised to bring his wealth of experience to bare in the service as the Chief of Army Staff.
