Professor Grey Ejikeme has formally taken over as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos following the expiration of the tenure of Professor Sebastian Maimako as the 9th substantive Vice Chancellor of the University.
In a brief ceremony at the Senate Chambers of the University, Professor Maimako said one of his greatest achievements was moving the University to its Permanent site.
He called on members and staff to support the new Vice Chancellor and give him time to study the system for better service delivery.
Professor Maimako appreciated the support given to him and expressed the believe that the University would continue to progress.
Responding, the acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Grey Ejikeme, who is also the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration said the name of Professor Maimako would be written in gold for the developmental strides he achieved.
He assured the university community that he would serve with the fear of God.
Professor Grey Ejikeme assumed duty as the Acting Vice Chancellor due to hiccups faced in appointing a substantive Vice Chancellor.
