The Federal Government has been urged to adopt more effective guidelines to enable private school teachers access the MSME Survival funds to cushion effects of Covid-19 Pandemic.
The National President, National Association of Private School Teachers, Comrade Akhigbe Olumhense made the call during a media conference in Abuja.
He explained that the association was formed to push for better Welfare package and other issues for members.
Comrade Olumhense said Covid-19 had caused untold hardship on members as many have not received any salary from schools where they work or any support from Government.
He also decried the sufferings faced by private school teachers and called on Government at all levels to come to their aid and expedite action on palliatives promised them since July this year as well as review the criteria for accessing the survival funds.
The National President also emphasized the need for the Federal Ministry of education and other regulatory bodies to ensure full enforcement of guidelines for registration of private schools for efficiency.
Comrade Olumhense expressed optimism that the various measures put in place by the Federal Government would alleviate the plight of Nigerians.
