People Living with Disabilities in Nasarawa State have called for full implementation of programmes and policies of the newly established National Commission for Persons with disabilities by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Spokesperson, All Prgressives Congress Disabled Persons Support Group in the State, Mr Sale Barde made the call when he led a group of persons with disabilities on a visit to the Senator Representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District of the State, Tanko Almakura in Lafia.
Mr Sale Barde said establishment of the Commission was the best thing that could happen in the history of Nigeria as it would go a long way in improving the living condition of persons living with disabilities.
He stressed the need to ensure provisions were made for full implementation of all the programmes contained in the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, especially education and welfare.
Senator Representing Nasarawa South Senatorial District, Tanko Almakura described establishment of the National Commission as a giant step aimed at inclusiveness, self esteem and adding value to the lives of persons living with disabilities.
Senator Tanko Almakura called on the Commission to work towards promoting talents and potential of people living with disabilities for the over all development of the country.
