Plateau State To Employ Fairness In Selection For Public Works Scheme

Plateau State Chairman on Federal Government Public Works Selection Committee Rufus Bature says about 17,000 unemployed youths will be recruited in the State as directed by the Federal Government.

Hon. Bature made this known at a media briefing held at the old Government House Rayfield in Jos.

He explained that 1000 youths per Local Government Area in the State would be recruited.

“inline with the Federal Government’s move to engage 774,000 youths in all Local Government Areas in the country for three months a committee has been set up to embark on a working visit to all the LGAs in the State to sensitise the public on this laudable programme that Mr. President has introduced”

Hon. Bature further explained that all the wards in the State have been allocated at least 50 slots depending on the number of Wards in the LGA.

“It is my hope that at least 3 people from each of the wards would be beneficiaries of this programme”

He stressed that the forms would be distributed to everyone irrespective of Political differences, ethnic or religious affiliation.

Members of the committee include the State Coordinator of NDE as Chairman, Three representatives of Traditional Rulers from the three Senatorial Districts of the State, one representative of the State Governor, Market Women Leader, CAN Chairman, JNI Chairman, NURTW Chairman, and six representatives from three recognized Youth Organizations, two from each Senatorial zone (One Male, One Male),

Others are one representative of the Civil Society Organization (CSO), two representatives from Institutions and major stakeholders in the State.
