The Plateau State Government has designated 7 Courts for prosecution of 307 suspects so far arrested at various locations where looting took place.
Secretary to the Government of the State, Professor Danladi Atu stated this at the end of the State Security Council meeting held at Government House Jos.
Professor Atu said Security Agencies have been mandated to embark on massive manhunt to ensure that materials are recovered and the culprits prosecuted.
He warned members of the public against consuming some of the looted food items because they are dangerous for human consumption, as they have been chemically treated for preservation and called against patronising such products.
Professor Atu said the meeting also encouraged the sustenance of all channels of engagement and dialogue with youth groups, community leaders, professional bodies, associations and traditional rulers to foster more understanding that would lead to a deescalation of the current situation.
The SGF commended security Agencies for their efforts so far and encouraged them to continue to work hard in restoring peace and order, as Government was looking into their challenges with a view to addressing them.
Professor Atu said the checkpoints in Jos North and South Local Government Areas would be fortified to give effect to the curfew imposed to restore peace and determine the next line of action.
