The Plateau State House of Assembly has called for the assistance of the Federal Government in addressing the COVID 19 Pandemic in the State.
Speaker of the House, Abok Ayuba stated this at a press Conference held at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Jos.
Abok Ayuba said the pandemic was still within the communities and should jot be taken lightly.
He stressed the need for more tests to be carried out, noting that the members have mobilised themselves and are reaching out to their communities on the need to carry out more test.
The Speaker stressed the importance of youths in the development of the Country and charged Government to take demands of the ENDSARS protesters seriously.
Honourable Abok Ayuba said the State lost over 90 billion naira following the looting that took place in the State.
Also speaking, Chairman, House Committee on Health, Nanbol Daniel also noted the importance of taking the test and expressed regret that some people are still rejecting it.
Daniel applauded the efforts of the State Ministry of Health and other relevant Health Agencies in meeting the target population that would guide its policy henceforth.
He said the State House of Assembly has set the pace in the area of Legislative framework on Corona virus, research on traditional medicine.
Contributing, the Chairman Committee on Information, Philip Dasun said some demands listed by the protesters should be given serious consideration.
Dasun encouraged youths to take the lead in the affairs of the Country by seeking political offices, noting that the State House of Assembly has a commitment to ensure that their activities come into Political reality.
