The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission, Reverend Yakubu Pam says the 2020 pilgrims from Plateau State to Israel will be airlifted from the Yakubu Gowon Airport in Jos .
Reverend Pam, who stated this while inspecting facilities at the Airport, said adequate arrangement have been put in place to ensure a smooth exercise as there would be no need for pilgrims to travel to Abuja before taking off to Israel.
He admitted that there were a few challenges which the Plateau State Government promised to address before the exercise commences.
Responding, Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Professor Danladi Atu said it has been a priority of the Governor Simon Lalong led administration to begin international flights at the Yakubu Gowon Airport.
He said Government would look into the challenges of furniture and scanning machines that is lacking at the Airport.
According to him, Governor Lalong who had paid several visits to the Airport assured that Government would do its best despite the scarce resources.
The Manager of the Airport, Mr. Ayinla Olufemi who conducted the NCPC delegation round the Airport, inspected the departure hall, airport clinic, the VIP and the conveyor belt among others.
