The House of Representatives has given assurance that the petroleum industry bill will be ready by the end of the 1st quarter of next year.
The Chairman, Ad-hoc committee on the PIB, Mohammed Tahir-Mungonu, who disclosed this at the inaugural meeting of the committee in Abuja said the National Assembly was committed to providing a viable legislation that would improve the sector.

Speaking further before the ad-hoc committee went into a closed door session, Mungonu noted that the Bill when passed would improve clarity of structures, roles accountability, transparency and efficiency in all
Institutions in the Oil Industry.
The Chief Whip who also called for support from all stakeholders urged them to send in their submissions to enable the committee imput their recommemdatoins into the Executive bill.
