The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami says over sixty percent of the nation’s economy will be digitally driven by next year.
He made this known in Abuja at a forum by the APC to showcase achievements of the Buhari led administration.
Dr Pantami explained that the digital economy is key to development of any nation.
The minister stressed that under his watch Nigeria must adopt international best practices to enable the country compete favourable with other developed nations.
He said the ministry was working towards ensuring that Nigeria begins production of smart phones and SIM cards in the next 3 years.
The Minister also explained that the National Identity Number was majorly developed to help in combating insecurity and Fastrack development in education, health, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.
