Over 150 health workers have tested positive to the second wave of Covid 19 In Nasarawa State.
Commissioner for Health, Mr Ahmed Baba Yahaya stated this at a three day workshop for medical doctors in Lafia.
The workshop was to train doctors on how to manage patients in their various homes who have tested positive to Covid 19 but are not showing symptoms as the two isolation centres in the State were already full.
Mr Ahmed Yahaya who pointed out that most of the affected health workers were doctors, said the workshop was part of Government’s effort towards mitigating the spike in the State
Chief Medical Director, Nasarawa State Hospital Management Board, Dr Edego Egba urged the health workers not to be afraid but remain committed in their duties to save humanity.
He called on the participants to ensure that new ideas learnt from the workshop were shared with their colleagues in their various facilities.
Director Public Health, Nasarawa State Dr Ibrahim Alhasan stated that over 100 doctors including Medical Superintendents of General Hospitals in the state were participating in the training.
