OPEC Commiserates With Kuwait Over Death Of Emir

The Secretary General, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo has expressed deep sadness over the death of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad.

This is contained in a statement by Mohammad Barkindo.

The statement notes that Al-Ahmad was a nation builder, which was evident in his term as a Foreign and Prime Minister of Kuwait.

It says the Sheikh was an astute and skillful diplomat as he played a major role in solving many regional and international conflicts which earned him the title of a humanitarian leader.

According to the statement, the late Sheikh’s commitment to building the State of Kuwait, was widely admired adding that his legacies will live on for generations to come.

It states that the Sheikh provided a steady and wise council to both his country and the OPEC.

The statement also explains that the Sheikh over the years dedicated his time and passion to help support OPEC.

It adds that the entire OPEC family commiserates with his family and the people of Kuwait.
