NYSC Deploys Medical Personnel In Nasarawa For Medical Outreach

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier-General Ibrahim Shu’aibu has deployed medical corps members to Nasarawa State for a one-week free medical outreach in rural communities across the state.

The Director-General, in a press statement said the programme is organised by the scheme’s Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers aimed at delivering free health-care services to people in rural communities across the country.

The Nasarawa State Co-ordinator of NYSC, Mr Stephen Dewan, said the outreach which would commence in Giza Development Area today would also render services in other communities such as Andaha in Akwanga Local Government, Kurape, Karshi Development Council and Araho in Lafia Local Government Area.

Mr Dewan explained that laboratory tests, consultations, eye checks, drug administration and other medical interventions would be carried out during the outreach.

While stressing the NYSC Director-General’s commitment to the integrated development of the country, the state NYSC boss called on members of the communities to avail themselves of the free medical outreach.
