Kogi State Government has been urged to assist the Radio Nigeria, Prime FM towards its relocation to Mount Patti for better output.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Chairman of the Station, Comrade Olusegun Oyenibi made the call at the inauguration of the New Executive of the Chapel in Lokoja
He said the State Government should complement the efforts of the Management of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria towards better signal and effective coverage of activities in the State.
Comrade Oyenibi also appealed for continued support of members and promised to justify the confidence reposed in the new Executive.
While Inaugurating the Executive, the Representative of the State Council of the NUJ, Comrade Samuel Atuluku, noted that the State and Chapel elections were becoming rancour free.
Mr Atuluku reiterated the need for journalists in the State to continue to be pace setters in transparent leadership while setting agenda for the society.
In a remark, the General Manager, Radio Nigeria, Prime FM Lokoja, Alhaji Adeiza Momoh-Jimoh applauded the maturity demonstrated by members of the chapel in allowing the Executive to run for another tenure without crisis, a situation he said used to pose grave challenges to the State Executive before now.
Alhaji Momoh-Jimoh who is also the Kogi State Council Chairman of the NUJ charged the EXCO to work assiduously towards improving the welfare of members and also urged members to strengthen their support to the Union.
He further pledged the State Union’s assistance towards remitting the check off dues of the Chapel.
Earlier, Chairman, Prime FM Credentials Committee, Alhaji Ahmad Mubaraq said the Committee carried out its duties in a transparent manner as only the Executive showed interest and picked forms for the election
