The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC says frantic efforts are being made to ensure the safety of lives and property in the country.
The Acting Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Hilary Kelechi Madu made this known in his maiden address at the headquarters of the Corps in Abuja.
Dr Kelechi Madu said as part of the its mandate, security of critical infrastructure would also be given priority.
He gave assurance that the Corps would focus on capacity building for officers and men to be adequately equipped to carry out their duties effectively.
While eulogizing the immediate past commandant General Mr Abdullahi Gana, the Acting Commandant General called on personnel to be diligent and adhere to ethics of the profession.
Dr. Madu however called on Nigerians to partner the Corps by giving accurate information that would help root out criminals in their localities.
