NSCDC Nabs Member Of A Syndicate For Job Racketeering In Nassarawa

Nassarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has arrested a 35 year old member of a four- man syndicate Mr James Agwabi for alleged job racketeering.

Parading the suspect at the NSCDC Command headquarters in Lafia, Commandant of the Corps in the State Mr Mahmoud Fari said he was apprehended at the point of distributing 30 NSCDC fake appointment letters worth 13. 6 million Naira to unsuspecting victims at Duduguru village in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State following a tip off. Mr.

Mahmoud Fari stated that the suspect who confessed to the crime said he sold the fake appointment letters between 550, 000 and 300, 000 Naira depending on the grade level applied for. The NSCDC Commandant pointed out that the suspect had provided information that would assist the command in arresting the other three members who were at large.

Mr Mahmoud Fari who also noted that the syndicate had been on the wanted list of the NSCDC, urged residents of the State to be vigilant and desist from any transaction in the name of NSCDC jobs.
