The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps says it is making concerted efforts towards curbing incidences of crime which has been an impediment to Peace and stability in the country .
The Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Abubakar Audi stated this at the issuance of operational licence to new Private Guards Companies ,PGC, in Abuja .
Dr Audi who stressed that a crime free society attracts more foreign investment called for continuous training and logistics provision by owners of PGC to ensure effective community policing .
While advocating remunerations commensurate with the high risk jobs by Security officials, Dr Audi noted that it is their responsibility to ensure safety of lives and property .
Responding on behalf of the newly licensed PGCs the President Association of licensed Private Security Guards of Nigeria Mr Wilson Esangbedo pledged their commitment to work According to stipulated guidelines.
He solicited the support of Nigerians in the fight against insecurity .
