NSCDC In Kogi Intercepts Truck With Adulterated APK, DPK

Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has paraded a three man syndicate who specialises in transporting adulterated petroleum products, DPK and APK in sealed nylons concealed in sacks.

Parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters in Lokoja, the State Commandant Peter Maigari said the men were arrested on a stop and search operation by the men of the Command along Ganaja road, Lokoja in an open truck.

Commandant Maigari said the suspects claimed they were coming from Port Harcourt enroute Suleja in Niger State to deliver the products.

He warned those who engaged in illegal sales and transport of petroleum products to desist as anyone caught would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The NSCDC Boss reiterated the determination of the Command to rid the State of criminal elements through its partnership with other security agencies, training and retraining of its men.

On the recent inaugurated agro rangers unit of the Command, Peter Maigari said it had been able to intervene and resolve amicably crises between herders and farmers in the State using its alternative dispute resolution mechanism.

Speaking through an interpreter, the driver of the truck, Mustapha Mohammed, aged twenty five and two others Awwal Mohammed and Hassan Mohammed Sani denied knowledge of the adulterated products saying that they were only engaged to transport the items with an escort to Suleja who escaped on sighting the patrol team of NSCDC.
