NSCDC Apprehends 9 Persons In Kano For Vandalising NITEL Mast

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has apprehended a 9 man syndicate for Vandalising a NITEL Mast located at Gaya local Government Area of Kano State.

The Commandant of the Corps In Kano, Abu Abdu Tambuwal stated this while briefing journalists in Kano.

Abu Abdu Tambuwal who was represented by the Deputy commandant in charge of Critical and National Assets protection, Mohammad Yakubu Asade said on the 3rd of March the command Headquarters in Kano recieved an information from the Gaya office that a group of people had submitted signed documents which stated that a NITEL Mast had been sold to them.

He said the command upon investigation to NATCOM office in Lagos discovered that the documents were fake.

Asade noted that in an effort to achieve their mischievous act the syndicate offered the sum of one million Naira to the Corps Division l Officer in Gaya local Government Area .

The Deputy Commandant maintained that the prime suspect who was a retired staff of NITEL, Danjuma Amos was the brain behind the fake Documents and also looked for a buyer for the mast.

He said among the prime suspects is one Alhaji Ismail Dole who currently is at large, but efforts are being made to arrest him.

Mohammad Alade said investigation was ongoing and when completed the suspects would be charged to court.

He reassured the commitment of NSCDC in fishing out perpetrators of such evil acts saying there was no hiding place for criminals in Kano State.

The Deputy Commandant appealed to the populace to always report any suspicious move to security agencies to curtail criminal activities in the State and the Nation at large.
