As part of efforts to reverse the increasing rate of Non literacy in Nigeria, A Non Governmental Association for Literacy Support Services NOGALSS, has taken a giant stride to empower skilled members with Funds to engage in economic activities for self reliance.
The National President of NOGALSS, Mr Noah Emmanuel while explaining that the fund would be made available through NOGALSS Coorperative Society and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Anchor Borrowers scheme, would also reduce poverty, which he said was the main reason for illiteracy in the Country.
According to him, the Coorperative Society is in Units to reach all interested members across the country, with different business opportunities for financial freedom and to ensure accurate data capturing of members.
At the inauguration of the Noble Unit of Bwari Branch in Abuja, Mr Emmanuel, charged the new executives on integrity and accountability in service.
In a remark, the Chairman of the occasion, Mrs Kazalma Mantey, who stressed that NOGALSS is a platform to learn different skills, advised members to remain focused to acquire knowledge for self development.
In their goodwill messages, the Executive Chairman Bwari Area Council, Mr John Gabaya, and Manager Abuja Electricity Distribution Company Nkiru Nwigbo, charged the new executives to be proactive in moving the Coorperative Society forward.
Appreciating the Organization for the opportunity to serve, the new Noble Unit Coordinator Bwari branch, Cecilia Agebe while promising efficient service delivery, appealed for support of members to achieve success.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of work tool to the new executives.
