No Covid-19 Case In Correctional Centers — Minister Of Environment

The Minister of Environment, Doctor Muhammed Abubakar says no Corona Virus case has been recorded in the Nigerian Correctional Service Custodial Centres due to strict adherence to COVID-19 Protocols.
He stated this at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kuje-Abuja.
The Minister of Environment who commended the Nigerian Correctional Service for their strict adherence to COVID-19 Protocols explained that regular hand washing and availability of sanitizers helped to prevent outbreak of the Virus in Custodial Centers.
On his part, the Controller General Nigerian Correctional Services, Ahmed Jafaru represented by the Deputy Controller General Works and Logistics also appreciated the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources for their collaboration with the Service and the Judiciary for decongesting the Custodial Centres.
In an address, the Minister of Water Resources, Mallam Suleiman Adamu stressed that the event was held at the custodial Centre to ensure that everyone had access to basic hygiene facilities which was in line with the theme of this year’s celebration “Hand Hygiene for All”.
Mallam Suleiman Adamu added that hand washing facilities had been donated and sensitization programmes were carried out in rural areas across the Country.
Safety Kits and hand washing items were also donated to the Correctional Service by the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.
