Nigerian Armed Forces Pledges Support For Resettlement Of IDPs

The Nigerian Armed forces is to support the Borno State Government towards the resettlement and return of all internally displaced persons in the State. The coordinator Defence Media Operations, Major General John Eneche stated this in Abuja while briefing newsmen on military operations across the country. Major General John Eneche said the troops of operation lafiya dole through it’s subsidiary operation Hail Storm conducted several airstrikes killing over twenty terrorists and destroying their logistics structures and equipment in sambisa forest and the lake Chad. General Enenche explained that the military high command would work closely with Borno state Government to ensure that the communities affected by the conflict where properly resettled to enable them continue with their farming and other socio-economic activities. In the south south zone, the coordinator said the troops of operation Delta safe through the Nigeria Navy Ship Delta and Nigeria Navy Ship Pathfinder discovered and deactivated some illegal refining sites and refined products. General Eneche added that troops of Operation Sahel Sanity, Safe Haven, Thunder Strike and Whirl Stroke, destroyed some bandits camps, arrested and killed some of the criminals as well as intercepted some arms and ammunition during clearance Operations in the North West and North Central Zones. The Coordinator maintained that the Armed Forces remained committed in promoting peace to all parts of the country
