The Chairperson, Nigeria Ophthalmic Nurses Association University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Mrs Elizabeth Fiase has appealed for more funding of the Health Sector towards ensuring effective Service delivery in the Country.
She made the appeal at a Sensitisation programme organised by the Association in commemoration of the World Sight Day which comes up on the second Thursday of October annually.
Mrs Fiase who attributed vision impairment to many factors maintained that adequate funding would go a long way to save many people from total blindness.
The Chairperson who also advised persons with vision impairment to desist from patronising quacks urged them to always eat a balanced diet.
The theme for this year’s world Sight day is”Hope in Sight.
