Nigerians have been advised to always avail themselves for regular eye check to avoid contracting Glaucoma.
The Chairperson, Nigeria Ophthalmic Nurses Association, University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, Mrs Elizabeth Fiase gave the advise at a free Eye screening organised by the Association as part of activities to Commemorate the world Glaucoma week in Abuja.
Mrs, Fiase who spoke extensively on the predisposing factors of Glaucoma, urged persons with eye problems to desist from patronising quacks for treatment.
The Chairperson who further enjoined persons with eye defects to always eat balanced diet, appealed for more budgetary allocation to enable them perform their duties optimally.
The theme for this year’s World Glaucoma week is “The world is Bright, Save your Sight”
