NGO To Provide Free Surgery For 50 Craniofacial Patients In Nassarawa

About Fifty Cleft and Facially deformed patients are to receive free surgery by a Non-governmental Organization, Cleft and Facial Deformity foundation, in an ongoing craniofacial outreach in Keffi Nasarawa State.

The Executive Director of the NGO, Dr Seidu Bello said the decision for carrying out such programmes was borne out of passion to ensure that every Nigerian lives a normal and happy life void of pain and discrimination.

 Dr Bello who explained that millions of Nigerians especially those in the rural areas were living with one facial deformity or the other called for establishment of a craniofacial Hospital in the country to reduce the prevelance of the disease.

On his part, the Commissioner of Health, Nasarawa State, Mr Ahmed Yahaya who noted that the State Government was committed to the health and wellness of citizens said similar outreaches would soon be carried out in all the thirteen local government areas of the State.

Some of the beneficiaries commended the efforts of the Cleft and Facial Deformity foundation for bringing succour to the less privalaged and urged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate same.
