A Non Governmental Organisation, Edu Radio and Partners has called for more innovations to fast track development in the country.
The Team Leader of the organisation, Mr. Dave Omang made the call at a programme to mark this year’s Children’s day in Abuja.
Mr. Omang who said the programme was to revive the lost glory and glamour of children’s day especially stressed that the choice of innovation centre was to prepare the children for the future.
Mr. Omang also appealed to well meaning individuals to invest in educational institutions to ensure the younger ones get the best motivations.
In a message, the Director General, Nigeria Television Authority, Mallam Yakubu Ibn Mohammed who was the chairman of the occasion called on the media not to relent in disseminating useful information that will improve intellectuals of Nigerians especially children.
Taking the students round facilities of the innovation center, the coordinator of the Innovation centre, Mr. Nnamani Afam explained that ideas could be transformed into innovations in the centre thereby reducing importation of goods that can be produced in the country.
Some of the students who spoke with kapital FM appreciated the organisers and called on government to create an enabling environment for learning.
Highpoint of the programme was a Drama, Discussion and cultural display by the children.
