Youths have been urged to engage in meaningful ventures to contribute their quota to nation building.
The Chairman of a Non Governmental Organization, Park Road Youth Association, PYPA in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Mallam Nasir Yahya made the call at a forum in Abuja to mark the 3rd anniversary of the Association.
Mallam Yahya said as part of activities to mark its 3rd anniversary, the association donated items worth over 750, ooo naira.
He explained that the association donated textbooks to some schools in the Area, relief materials to residents of Old Kutunku Gwagwalada, orphanages, hospitals and correctional centers among others.
He also urged youth groups to learn from P.Y.P.A to help each other instead of relying on government for white collar jobs.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of Gwagwalada area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha commended the association for its efforts in assisting the less privileged in the society.
The Chairman who pointed out that the crime rate was high among youths said such youth groups would help check vices such as cultism and drug abuse in the council and the FCT in general.
The Chairman pledged his support to the Association towards the uplift of the standard of living of the Residents.
