Religious Leaders have been urged to enlighten their followers on the dangers of migration and human trafficking.
The founder Of a Non Governmental Organization, Synbol Of Hope Project, Reverend Emmanuel Gabriel made the call at a forum in Jos, Plateau state.
Reverend Emmanuel Gabriel expressed regret that girls were more vulnerable hence the need for the church to protect them.
He attributed the increase in human trafficking and migration to insecurity and called on government to strengthen policies that protect human rights.
While cautioning parents against the attitude of giving out their children to friends and relatives under the guise of training, the cleric tasked them to take responsibility for their well being.
A returnee, Miss Yetunde Abraham who narrated her experience, warned people never to give in to such offers.
Also speaking, Mrs Gloria Mshelia of the Girls Brigade, Nigeria advised young girls to seek means of developing themselves and not yield to such offers.
