The Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad,
has sworn in Justice Salisu Garba as the substantive Chief Judge of the
Federal Capital Territory High Court.
Speaking at the ceremony in Abuja, the CJN charged Justice
Garba to be forthright in discharging his duties.
The CJN also Tasked the new Chief Judge to always ensure he discharged his duties with fairness, without fear or favor.
He stressed that conscience was an old wound only truth could heal, therefore, the new Chief Judge must put aside all sentiments in the course of his duty.
He however stated that he had faith in Justice Garba’s capacity.
Addressing journalists after the ceremony, the newly sworn in Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Justice Salisu Garba, hinted that top on his agenda was for all FCT High Courts to be automated.
The Jurist pledged to look into the welfare of staff.
On the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN nationwide strike, Justice Salisu Garba pointed out that the parties involved had been meeting and prayed that the crisis be resolved soonest.
