Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has been appointed to head the Governors committee for this year’s Christian Pilgrimage to Israel, Rome and Greece.
Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, Rev. Yakubu Pam, announced this when Governor Uzodinma paid him a visit in Abuja.
Reverend Pam said Governor Uzodimma would be expected to mobilize other Governors to be actively involved in the forth coming pilgrimage to the holy land where a prayer session would be organised for the country.
He explained that the programme “a day with Jesus” in Israel which would have the Deputy Senate President and the Vice President in attendance would be a prayer retreat to seek Divine intervention to the challenges facing Nigeria.
According to him, the Governor would support the commission in terms of mobilising his colleagues, politicians and businessmen in the Country to achieve the set objective.
Responding, Governor Uzodinma thanked Reverend Pam for the confidence reposed in him and assured that he would work with the business community and his colleagues to mobilise many people to the holy land for the special prayer for Nigeria.
According to him, Nigeria had surmounted so many challenges including terrorists attacks, kidnapping, banditry as well as the anti-SARS protests but remained united as a nation.
He urged youths not to allow themselves to be used by a disgruntled few to destabilise the Country.
The Governor also pleaded with Nigerians to shun the ongoing protests and not add to the challenges facing the Country .
