The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC Reverend Yakubu Pam has called on Nigerian Youths to embrace peace, shun violence and contribute positively to National Development.
He made the call in Jos during a two day Leadership and Peace Summit organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria, Plateau State Youth Wing.
The NCPC boss who was the guest speaker at the event spoke on ” Promoting Peaceful Co- existence as a Tool for National Development urged them to embrace peace at all times.
He highlighted some of the security threats affecting the peaceful co-existence in the country to include, insurgency, farmers/ Herders conflict, agitations by some ethnic groups Kidnapping, amongst others.
He stressed that peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice and good governance.
He admonished them to shun violence and come together to deliberate on common issues affecting them, the state and the nation.
He emphasized the need for them to embrace dialogue at all times in resolving their grievances.
The theme of the Leadership and Peace Summit is ” The Christian Youth Leader: Strategizing to Cope with the Challenges of Contemporary times”
