The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Reverend, Yakubu Pam has called on Governors in the North East to rise up and support widows and orphans who lost their loved ones in the insurgency.
He made the call in Gombe during a meeting with officials and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN at the Christian Centre in the State.
The NCPC helmsman called on the Governors to also support those who lost their places of worship both Christians and Muslims which he said would engender peace.
He commended the exemplary leadership of Governor Zulum of Borno State and called on other Governors in the region to emulate him. Rev. Pam also lauded President Buhari for his commitment to end insurgency in the North East.
He thereafter advised the CAN members to see the position God gave them as a place of honour. According to him,’’ we are inspired to speak the words of honor’’.
He described the work of God’s people as a watch dog which presupposes that they must uphold truth and be steadfast at all times.
Reverend Yakubu Pam cautioned that their work should not be politicized, ‘’ let’s build bridges and not divisions’’.
In the words of Rev. Pam, ‘’ I want to let you know that you are not alone. The problem of Nigeria lies in the church, You are a champion, you are the one God is looking for, be strong in what you are doing’’.
He also admonished them to remove hatred for one another, adding that his appointment as the Executive Secretary of NCPC was divine and meant for CAN and the church.
He affirmed that with their prayers the crisis in the North East would soon be over.
